Western Algarve October 5-12 2024
The Algarve is well known, not just for the quality of the light, but also the vibrant colours, ranging from the vivid blue of the skies to the turquoise of the waters; the lush green vegetation as well as the rustic tiled and coloured traditional buildings.
The Western Algarve is more rural, rustic and peaceful than the hustle and bustle of the Central Algarve with its sleepy harbours, quiet mountain villages and unspoilt coastline.
We will be staying at the Villa Termal in Caldas de Monchique,
where we will paint the traditional Portuguese architecture and cobbled streets lined with deciduous trees and bathed with dappled sunlight.
We will also visit other inland places such as the National Park of Sitio Das Fontes with its streams, ponds and quaint buildings –
plus the historic city of Silves and its castle.
Other painting venues will include the Algarve coast and places such as Lagos Marina –
Luz
and the fishing village of Burgau.
